Perfect Hard-Boiled Eggs

Description

Hard-boiled eggs are a versatile kitchen staple. They’re **a quick, protein-packed snack**, great for breakfast, lunch, or nibbling between meals. Keep a batch on hand to slice into salads, mash into tuna or egg salad, or enjoy on their own for an easy, satisfying bite.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. 1. Place eggs in a saucepan and cover with cold water by about an inch.
  2. 2. Bring water to a boil over medium-high heat.
  3. 3. Once boiling, cover the saucepan, remove from heat, and let sit:
  4. * 6 minutes for soft-boiled
  5. * 9 minutes for medium
  6. * 12 minutes for hard-boiled
  7. 4. Transfer eggs to an ice water bath for at least 5 minutes to stop cooking and make peeling easier.
  8. 5. Gently tap and peel eggs, rinsing under water if needed.

Note

* Slightly older eggs peel more easily. * Store unpeeled eggs in the refrigerator for up to one week. * Keep a batch ready for quick snacks, adding to salads, or mixing into tuna or egg salad.
