Description

There’s nothing quite like a tall, icy glass of something fruity on a warm summer day. This Fresh Strawberry Agua Fresca is light, refreshing, and bursting with the sweet-tart flavor of ripe strawberries. A squeeze of fresh lime adds just the right little zing, while a touch of sweetness lets those beautiful berries do most of the talking.

This pretty pink drink comes together in just minutes and is wonderful served over plenty of ice. It’s a simple, wholesome way to cool down when the weather turns warm, whether you’re enjoying a quiet afternoon at home or serving a pitcher to friends.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. 1. Add the strawberries, 2 cups of the water, lime juice, and honey or maple syrup to a blender.
  2. 2. Blend until smooth and the strawberries are completely pureed.
  3. 3. Pour the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into a large pitcher if you prefer a smoother drink. Press gently on the solids with a spoon to extract as much liquid as possible.
  4. 4. Stir in the remaining 2 cups of cold water.
  5. 5. Taste and add a little more lime juice or sweetener if desired.
  6. 6. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to chill.
  7. 7. Serve over ice and garnish with fresh strawberries, lime slices, and mint, if desired.
For the prettiest pitcher, reserve a few Slice them thinly to float in the agua fresca. You can also blend in a handful of watermelon, peaches, or raspberries for a fruity twist. If your strawberries are especially sweet and juicy, you may find you don't need much sweetener at all.
